Protein mills, dehulling, pumps, bottle fillers, cappers, labellers…

As well as the press and filter we also supply machines for milling the press cake into protein powder, and can advise on filling bottles, capping, labeling etc. On this page you will find the protein mills, dehuller and pumps we offers as well as information about how to fill, cap and label. Let us know what you want to do and we should be able to offer a solution or point you to a supplier.

PROTEIN MILLS – MILLING THE PRESS CAKE

These machines will mill press cake into flour and then sift the flour to remove the gritty fiber resulting in a fine soft high protein powder.

FILL, CAP, LABEL

Filling of bottles with oil is best achieved with a vacuum filler as these will fill to the same level every time. Volumetric fillers are usually used to fill jerry cans and drums or pails. Simple semi-automatic machines can fill several hundred bottles per hour. Capping solutions depend on the container and vary from high quality metal pilfer proof caps (aka ROPP) with integral pourer spouts to push in corks with heat shrink covers. Labeling is important for a professional looking final product, getting them on straight and at the same position every time is key. Manual labelers cost a few hundred dollars while semi-auto labelers can cost several thousand, with manual or semi-auto you can label several hundred bottles per hour. More automated conveyor systems can fill, cap and label and will cost $60k or more. We can usually suggest a supplier to suit the production level you need.

DEHULLING / SEED PEELING

Originally designed as a spelt peeler this machine works well as an oil seed dehuller and has an integral gravity table. Up to 200kg/400lbs per hour for peeling grain and 50kg/100lbs per hour for oil seeds. Parts which are in contact with the seed are made of stainless steel.
Peeling grain: e.g. Buckwheat, Spelt, Einkorn, Wild Emmer, Oats.
Oil seeds: Hemp, Sunflower, Moringa, Sacha Inchi and others.

Example of hemp seed before and after peeling.

Food grade mono pumps in various sizes 4 gallons/min, up to 25 gallons/min. On a cart or just the pump. Triclamp fittings, variable speed and voltage options. These pumps are great for oil since they don’t cause foaming and unlike flex impeller pumps they have a long service life with vegetable oils.
